Privacy Policy

Motor+ Studio operates this online store and website to provide you with a curated shopping experience. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and disclose your personal information when you visit or use our services, make a purchase or other transaction, or otherwise communicate with us. If there is a conflict between our Terms of Service and this Privacy Policy, this Privacy Policy will control regarding the collection, processing, and disclosure of your personal information.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By accessing or using any of our services, you acknowledge that you have read and understand this Privacy Policy and agree to the collection, use, and disclosure of your information as described herein.

Personal Information We Collect

When we say "personal information," we mean any information that identifies you or can reasonably be linked to you or another individual. (Information that is truly anonymous or de-identified so it can no longer identify you is not considered personal information.) Depending on how you interact with our services, where you live, and as permitted by law, we may collect or process the following categories of personal information (including inferences drawn from them):

  • Contact Details: e.g. your name, billing and shipping addresses, phone number, and email address.

  • Financial Information: e.g. credit card or debit card numbers, other payment or financial account information, payment method details, and transaction details (like payment confirmation).

  • Transaction Information: details about your interactions with us and our products, such as items you view, add to cart, purchase, or cancel, and records of your past orders or transactions.

  • Communications: any information you include when communicating with us (for example, information you provide in customer support inquiries or emails).

  • Device Information: data about the device and browser you use to access our site (such as device type, operating system, browser type), your network connection, IP address, and other unique identifiers.

  • Usage Information: data about how you interact with our website and services, including timestamps of visits, navigation paths, features used, pages viewed, and other usage analytics.

  • Vehicle/Photo Content: images of your car or motorcycle that you provide so we can design and produce your custom frame. These may include visible license plates, surroundings, and other identifiable visual details.

We currently do not offer customer accounts or login profiles on our website. Orders are placed directly through checkout, and you receive confirmations and updates via email.

Sources of Personal Information

We collect personal information from several sources:

Directly from You:
Most information is provided by you directly. For example, you give us personal details when you place an order, fill out checkout or contact forms, upload a vehicle photo for your frame, or otherwise voluntarily provide data through our services.

Automatically Through Our Services:
Some data is collected automatically as you use our site. For instance, we (or authorized third parties) use cookies and similar tracking technologies to gather device and usage information (such as your IP address, browsing actions, and usage patterns) whenever you interact with our website.

Service Providers on Our Behalf:
We may receive information from service providers that work with us to enable certain features or transactions. For example, if you make a purchase, our payment processors will collect payment details (like your card information and billing address) to process the transaction and then share relevant data with us. Similarly, IT service providers or analytics partners might collect data as needed to operate and improve our services, on our behalf.

Business Partners or Other Third Parties:
We might obtain information from partners or other external parties. For example, if we run a joint promotion or if you interact with us via social media or other third-party platforms, those parties might send us certain information. We also may receive data from advertising partners or other merchants (especially since our store platform is powered by Shopify, which can involve data sharing across different merchant sites for features like personalized advertising).

How We Use Your Personal Information

Depending on how you interact with us and which services you use, we use your personal information for various purposes, including:

Provide, Tailor, and Improve Our Services:
We use your information to carry out our obligations and provide you with the services and products you request. This includes processing payments and fulfilling orders, shipping your purchases, and handling any support inquiries. We may also remember items left in your cart (using cookies or similar technologies) to make your shopping experience smoother. Your data helps us operate, maintain, and continually improve our website and services.

Use of Customer Photos and Vehicle Images (Frames Used in Our Portfolio & Social Media):
When you order a custom illuminated frame, you will upload or provide vehicle photos, including images that may contain your car or motorcycle, license plate, or other identifiable details.

We may occasionally select certain completed frames to feature in our portfolio or promotions. By submitting these photos and proceeding with your order, you grant Motor+ Studio a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to:

  • use and display your frame and/or the underlying vehicle photo,

  • showcase the final product and/or mockups on our website and social media channels,

  • feature selected frames in our portfolio, marketing materials, advertisements, or other promotional content, and

  • otherwise use such images to demonstrate the quality and craftsmanship of our products.

We do not use every frame we produce; we only feature selected examples from time to time. We will use these images responsibly and primarily to showcase our work and the Motor+ Studio brand.

If you do not want your frame or vehicle photo (including your license plate) to appear on our social media channels, website, or marketing materials, you may opt out at any time by contacting us at info@motorplusstudio.com. Upon receiving your request, we will stop using your images for future marketing and, where reasonably possible, remove them from our active promotional materials.

Marketing and Advertising:
We may use your personal information to promote our products or services. This can include sending you marketing communications (such as promotional emails or text messages, if you've subscribed) and presenting you with special offers. We may also use data about your past browsing or purchase history to show you targeted advertisements — for example, ads for items similar to what you've viewed or bought, either on our site or on other websites. (Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to opt out of certain targeted advertising or profiling based on your online activity — see Your Rights and Choices below.)

Security and Fraud Prevention:
Your information helps us keep our services and customers safe. We may use personal data to secure your transactions and to detect, prevent, or investigate fraud, abuse, unlawful uses, or other malicious activities. For example, we may monitor for suspicious behavior associated with orders or payments.

Communicating with You:
We use your information to stay in touch and manage our relationship. This includes sending you order confirmations and updates, responding to your inquiries, providing customer support, and notifying you about changes to our services or policies. Because we do not offer customer accounts, communication is primarily via email or WhatsApp.

Legal and Compliance Reasons:
In certain cases, we need to use your information to comply with applicable laws and regulations or to respond to legal requests and proceedings. For example, we might process data to fulfill reporting obligations, respond to subpoenas or court orders, or address requests from law enforcement or government authorities. We may also use personal information to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements, to investigate potential violations of our policies, and to protect our rights or the rights and safety of our users or others.

How We Disclose Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information, but we may disclose (share) it with third parties in some situations, as needed to provide our services or as required by law. Such circumstances include:

Service Providers (Including Shopify):
We share personal information with our trusted service providers and vendors who perform services on our behalf. This includes companies that help operate our store and website (for example, Shopify, which hosts our online store platform), as well as providers of payment processing, order fulfillment and shipping, data analytics, information technology, cloud storage, and customer support services. These third parties are given access only to the information necessary for them to perform their specific functions, and they are contractually obligated to protect your data and use it only for our specified purposes.

Business and Marketing Partners:
We may share certain information with partners to facilitate marketing and advertising. For example, we might partner with advertising networks or social media platforms to show you ads, or with other businesses for a joint promotion. Notably, because our store runs on Shopify, Shopify may use data about your interactions with our store (and others on its platform) for personalized advertising or other enhanced services. Our business and marketing partners will handle your information according to their own privacy policies. Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to direct us not to share your information for the purpose of cross-context behavioral advertising (targeted ads across different websites or merchants). If applicable, you can exercise that right as described in Your Rights and Choices below.

With Your Consent or at Your Direction:
We will share your information with other parties if you specifically request or direct us to do so, or if you consent to the disclosure. For instance, if you ask us to ship a purchase to a third party (like sending a gift) or if you use social media features or widgets (such as a social sharing button that transmits data to a social network), we will share data as needed to fulfill your request.

Affiliates:
If Motor+ Studio is part of a corporate group or has affiliates (e.g. parent company, subsidiaries), we may share your information within that corporate family as allowed by law, in order to streamline operations and improve our services.

Business Transfers or Legal Obligations:
If we undergo a business transaction such as a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of assets, your personal information may be transferred to the successor entity as part of that deal. We may also disclose personal information as required to comply with applicable laws and legal processes (for example, in response to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information). Additionally, we might share information as necessary to enforce our Terms of Service or other agreements, to collect amounts owed, to handle or resolve claims or disputes, and to protect or defend the rights, safety, and property of our company, our users, or others.

Relationship with Shopify

Our store and website are hosted by the Shopify platform, which means Shopify is deeply involved in the collection and processing of data through our services. Information you provide through our website is transmitted to Shopify and may be shared with Shopify and certain third parties (some of which may be located in countries outside your own) to help us deliver and improve the services for you. For example, Shopify powers our checkout process and payment system, so data from your transactions will be processed through Shopify’s systems.

In addition, to help protect, grow, and improve our business, we utilize certain enhanced features provided by Shopify. These features may involve Shopify combining data from your interactions with our store, other merchants’ stores, and Shopify’s own systems. In such cases, Shopify is responsible for the processing of your personal information for those specific uses – including handling any requests or rights you may exercise regarding that data. To learn more about how Shopify uses your personal information and to understand your rights in that context, you should review the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy. Depending on where you live, you can also exercise certain data rights directly with Shopify via their Privacy Portal (see Shopify’s website for the link and details).

Third-Party Websites and Links

Our services may contain links to websites or online platforms operated by third parties (for example, a social media page or a payment provider’s site). If you click on a third-party link, be aware that you will be leaving our site and any information you provide on those external sites is governed by the privacy policy and terms of that third party, not by our Privacy Policy. We have no control over and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or security of websites that are not owned by us. We recommend you review the privacy and security policies of any third-party sites you visit.

Furthermore, if you choose to post information on public or semi-public platforms that we may provide (such as product reviews, blog comments, or social media pages) or on third-party social networks, any personal information you submit there can be read, collected, or used by others. For example, information you share on a public forum or a social media page could be seen by other users and even indexed by search engines. We are not responsible for the information you choose to submit in these public arenas, and its disclosure is not subject to this Privacy Policy.

Children's Data

Our services are not intended for use by children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in your jurisdiction (for example, under 18 years old in many regions). We do not intentionally target or market to minors. If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that your child has provided personal information to us without your consent, please contact us using the details in the Contact section below so we can remove the information.

As of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, we also do not have actual knowledge that we "sell" or "share" (as those terms may be defined under applicable law) personal information of individuals under 16 years of age. We take children’s privacy seriously and will update our practices and this Policy if that ever changes.

Security of Your Information

We employ reasonable security measures to protect your personal information and to help prevent unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee "perfect security." For example, emails or other communications you send to us may not be encrypted, so we urge you to avoid sending sensitive information through unsecured channels.

If you suspect any unauthorized use of your payment information or other security issues related to an order, please notify us immediately.

Retention of Your Information

We will retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes we collected it for, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law. In practice, the length of retention may vary depending on factors such as: whether we need the data to provide you with a service or fulfill an order; our legal or regulatory obligations to keep data (for example, for tax, auditing, or legal compliance); any applicable statutes of limitations for potential legal claims; and other legitimate business considerations such as dispute resolution or enforcement of our agreements.

Once personal information is no longer needed for the purposes for which it was collected (and we are not legally required to keep it), we will securely delete or anonymize it. Keep in mind that due to the way computer storage and backups work, complete erasure from all systems may not be immediate, but we will ensure that your data is no longer readily accessible or used in the meantime.

Your Rights and Choices

Depending on the laws that apply to you (often based on your place of residence), you may have certain rights regarding your personal information. These rights can include:

  • Right to Access / Know: You have the right to request confirmation of whether we are processing your personal information, and to request a copy of that information or details about how we use it.

  • Right to Delete: You have the right to request that we delete personal information that we have collected from you and retained, subject to certain exceptions (for example, we might need to keep some data to comply with legal obligations or complete transactions you initiated).

  • Right to Correct: If you believe that any personal information we hold about you is inaccurate or incomplete, you have the right to request a correction or update of that information.

  • Right to Data Portability: In some cases, you have the right to obtain a copy of your personal data in a portable and, if technically feasible, readily usable format (and/or to request we transfer it to a third party of your choice). This typically applies when processing is done by automated means and is based on your consent or a contract with you.

  • Right to Opt-Out of Marketing: You can opt out of receiving promotional emails or texts from us at any time. If you no longer wish to receive marketing communications, just click the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email, or contact us using the details below. (Even if you opt out of marketing messages, we may still send you transactional messages, such as order confirmations or customer service communications.)

  • Right to Opt-Out of Targeted Advertising / “Do Not Sell or Share” (if applicable): Some privacy laws (for example, certain state laws in the U.S.) give individuals the right to opt out of the sharing of personal information for targeted advertising, or to opt out of the sale of personal data. If these laws apply to you, you can exercise those rights by contacting us or using any tools available on our site. We will honor such requests as required by applicable law.

How to Exercise Your Rights:
Because we do not use customer login accounts on our site, you can exercise applicable rights by contacting us directly using the information provided in the Contact section below. In some cases, we may direct you to the Shopify Privacy Portal or ask you to contact Shopify directly for certain data requests, especially if it relates to data processed by Shopify for cross-store features. For instance, Shopify’s Privacy Portal (at privacy.shopify.com/en) allows individuals to exercise rights related to information Shopify holds about them (as part of Shopify’s services to merchants like us).

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights. However, please note that these rights are not absolute and may not apply in all situations. For example, we might not grant a deletion request if we are legally required to keep certain data, or we might decline an access request if disclosing the information would compromise others’ privacy or violate the law. If we deny a request, we will explain our reasoning as required by law.

For your security and to prevent fraud, we may need to verify your identity before processing certain requests (like access or deletion requests). Verification might involve confirming information we already have on file or asking for additional information.

We strive to respond to valid requests within the timeframe set by applicable law. This is often around 30 days, but it can vary. If we need more time, we will let you know the reason and extension period in writing.

Complaints and Dispute Resolution

Privacy is a serious matter, and we are committed to resolving any concerns you may have. If you have a complaint about how we collect, use, or handle your personal information, please contact us first (see Contact below) so we can attempt to resolve the issue. We will investigate your complaint and try to respond promptly.

If you are not satisfied with our response, and depending on your location, you may have the right to take further action. For instance, if you reside in certain jurisdictions, you might have the right to formally appeal our decision by contacting us again and requesting a further review, or you may lodge a complaint with your country or state’s data protection authority or privacy regulator. The procedures for doing so vary by region; we can help direct you to the appropriate authority if needed once you contact us.

International Transfers of Data

Motor+ Studio is based in the United Arab Emirates, but we may transfer, store, or process your personal information in countries other than your own. This is often necessary for the purposes described in this Policy (for example, if our servers or service providers are located overseas). As a result, your information may be handled in countries that have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

If you are located in the European Economic Area (EEA) or the United Kingdom (UK), and we transfer your personal information out of those regions, we will take steps to ensure your data remains protected. Typically, this means we will rely on recognized legal transfer mechanisms such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or the UK’s International Data Transfer Agreement/Addendum, unless the destination country has been officially deemed to provide an adequate level of data protection. These contractual measures are designed to protect your privacy and give you rights and remedies in respect of your data.

By using our services, you understand that your personal information may be transferred to our facilities and those third parties with whom we share it as described in this Privacy Policy, even if they are located in other countries. We will always handle your personal information in accordance with this Policy wherever it is processed.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update or modify this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices, technologies, legal requirements, or for other operational reasons. If we make material changes, we will post the updated Privacy Policy on our website and update the "Last updated" date (and, if required by law, we will also provide a more prominent notice, such as by email or a website banner, to inform you of significant changes). Your continued use of our services after we post an updated Privacy Policy will signify your acceptance of the changes, so please check back periodically for the latest information on our privacy practices.
